Industry Certification is a certification of proficiency issued by a company which is a renowned industry leader. Such a certification is standardized worldwide and it has worldwide recognition - it includes Microsoft’s MCSE and MOUS; Cisco’s CCNE, CCNA, and CCNP; Oracle’s OCP; SUN’s Java, Red Hat’s RHCE, Lucent’s LCTE, Ericsson’s E, etc.

On the other hand, Professional Certifications is a certification of proficiency issued by an organization or a professional body that has a business imperative or statutory mandate to do so. Typically, such a certification receives automatic national recognition, but may however not enjoy same level of recognition abroad.
