The Digital Bridge Institute has developed six (6) Professional  Certification Programmes in the following telecommunications and ICT areas:

The professional certificate programmes are designed for professionals in the field looking to hone their existing capabilities; gain new expertise; seek to enter the new fields; or want to up-date their skills.

Each certificate programme is specifically designed to significantly augment the capacity of each successful candidate. By combining key, current, and specifically selected course materials, the certificate programmes are based on experiential learning, hands on experience and simulated activities, and cutting edge resources.

Certificate course structure

Each certificate programme is built on two core courses common to each certificate programme, two core certificate specific courses, and three elective courses.

Each course is a five-day course with 28 lecture contact hours and 12 tutorial hours for a total of 40 contact hours. This approximates a semester long University course. Lecture contact-hours will be based on DBI developed content and will be supported with DBI Course Manuals and select readings. Tutorial contact hours will be hands on laboratory for engineering courses and case study or simulation activities for other courses. At the conclusion of the set courses for each certificate programme student will sit for an exam.

DBI core courses

The objective of the two core courses is to provide a broad based foundation to the modern world of ICT and telecommunications. In these courses students will learn the basics of Telecommunications and ICT engineering, technology, economics, business, policy, law, regulation and management of projects in the sector. These courses provide the skills and knowledge for a thorough foundation in the sector.
The two core courses are:

  • Telecommunications and ICT engineering for non-Engineers
  • Telecommunications and ICT sector project management

Certificate Specific Core Course

Each Certificate programme will have two core courses. The objective of these courses is to provide additional in-depth knowledge of the specialization of their specific certificate programme. Here, the objective to provide specialized and current material in their area of specialization.

Elective Courses

To complete a certificate programme the students will select two elective courses in consultation with the Certificate programme coordinator. Here, the objective is to support increased specialization in a field as well as the opportunity to focus on key sector issues outside of a field of expertise.
Three electives selected in consultation with Certificate programme coordinator
